Compensation Range: The base pay scale for this position is $58.29 - $65.57. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.

Job Description

Cuts, stains, mounts and studies specimens of human tissue to provide data on functioning of tissues and organs, cause and/or progress of disease, following established standards and practices.

Years of Experience Required: 1 Histotechnology

Physical Working Conditions: Standing or sitting in the same location; may require to stoop, climb or lift light material (10 lbs. or less) or equipment.

Environmental Working Conditions: Indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature, and noise.

Hazards: OSHA Category 1 - plus tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, and other potentially infectious materials. Subject to electrical and radiant energy hazards. Exposed to odorous chemicals and specimens.

Position & Unit Accountability:

Cuts, stains, mounts and studies specimens of human tissue to provide data on functioning of tissues and organs, cause and/or progress of disease, following established standards and practices.

Education Required: Associate Degree in Histopathology or Bachelors in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field

Certifications/Licensure Required: NY State license - Histotechnician/Histotechnology or a Clinical Laboratory Technologist Certifications/Licensure Preferred: ASCP preferred.
