The Clinic Admission Clerk is responsible for answering the phones, making appointments, initial intake of patient information upon patient's arrival, verification of insurance and collection of appropriate fee for services received prior to patient departure.Must be able to interact with the public in a professional manner. Basic computer skills required. Experience wit insurance verification process preferredGood general health and stress coping ability requiredMust be physically able to lift or move equipment and supplies necessary to perform duties in the department.Vision sufficient to read patient records requiredHearing sufficient to interact with patients who may be unable to speak at a normal voice level requiredDuties and ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates efficient use of electronic health recordAnswers phone in a courteous and polite manner with appropriate toneAnswers patient questions with courtesy, respect and appropriate toneVerifies insurance on every patient and collects appropriate fee for servicesMaintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording and updating personal and financial informationComforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties and provides necessary support to find resolutionManages waiting area (picking up trash, keeping order, etc.)Manages cash drawer and daily balance reporting requirementsAttitude and performance is reflective of serving others
