Your Role as a Physical Therapist Assistant

As a PTA, you will provide physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, helping residents improve their mobility, function, strength, and independence.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement each resident's individualized treatment plan as established by the Physical Therapist.

• Provide physical therapy treatments designed to support increased function, mobility, and independence.

• Work collaboratively with the rehabilitation and interdisciplinary teams to implement programs consistent with each resident's needs and capabilities.

• Assist the Physical Therapist with tests, evaluations, and complex procedures as directed.

• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on appropriate physical therapy techniques and strategies under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.

• Communicate resident progress, response to treatment, and relevant concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.

• Promote resident safety, dignity, participation, and independence throughout treatment.

• Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Rehabilitation or supervising Physical Therapist.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

• Current and valid PTA license or eligibility for licensure as required by the state of practice.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative rehabilitation team.
