Role Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics by utilizing standardized assessments in conjunction with observational methods.
- Cultivate individualized treatment plans targeting both immediate and ongoing communication, cognitive, and swallowing objectives.
- Deliver focused speech therapy sessions designed to enhance communication skills, address language issues, improve fluency, and manage swallowing challenges.
- Engage collaboratively with other professionals, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families, to establish unified care strategies.
- Provide education to patients and their families to encourage progress beyond the clinical setting.
- Play a role in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapies to ensure seamless continuity of care.
- Maintain comprehensive and timely documentation in accordance with the highest state, federal, and institutional standards.
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in the therapy field through ongoing education and teamwork with peers.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification has not been obtained.
Licenses and Certifications
- Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be earned within the first 30 days of employment.
