Role Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics by utilizing standardized assessments in conjunction with observational methods.
• Cultivate individualized treatment plans targeting both immediate and ongoing communication, cognitive, and swallowing objectives.
• Deliver focused speech therapy sessions designed to enhance communication skills, address language issues, improve fluency, and manage swallowing challenges.
• Engage collaboratively with other professionals, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families, to establish unified care strategies.
• Provide education to patients and their families to encourage progress beyond the clinical setting.
• Play a role in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapies to ensure seamless continuity of care.
• Maintain comprehensive and timely documentation in accordance with the highest state, federal, and institutional standards.
• Keep abreast of the latest developments in the therapy field through ongoing education and teamwork with peers.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification has not been obtained.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be earned within the first 30 days of employment.
