Responsibilities Ensure efficient, timely, and friendly service to all residents and staff. Maintain proper sanitation and safety procedures and high quality food preparation and presentation. Order, receive, and rotate stock in conjunction with the Food Service Director. Read and follow recipes to ensure consistency of the product. Prepare and serve food items for breakfast, lunch, or dinner as assigned. Assist with meeting or exceeding resident dining expectations. Demonstrate knowledge of food preparation techniques and presentation. Perform other relevant duties as required or assigned by the Supervisor. Critical Success Factors Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Willingness to learn new food preparation techniques and presentation. Knowledge of special dietary needs of residents and required meal prep techniques. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a team and display team behaviors. Ability to effectively deal with conflict or customer complaints. Ability to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously. Follow all food safety and equipment safety procedures. Knowledge of and compliance with community quality standards and requirements. Ability to short order cook. Dependable, punctual, self motivated, and able to work without constant supervision. Minimum Qualifications Minimum of one year of cooking experience (including short order cooking and quantity cooking). Must possess Serv Safe certification, or be willing to obtain it upon hire.
