North Carolina Senate Democratic Caucus: Finance DirectorThe North Carolina Senate Democratic Caucus (NCSDC) is seeking a Finance Director to lead and manage all aspects of its fundraising operation for the 2026 election cycle. This is a high-impact leadership position responsible for building and executing a robust finance plan to fully fund caucus operations, support campaigns, and strengthen Democratic control in the North Carolina Senate under the leadership of Senate Democratic Leader Sydney Batch.The ideal candidate is an experienced political fundraiser with a deep commitment to electing Democrats, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. We ask that applicants for this position are willing to commit to working through the election in November of 2026.Role ResponsibilitiesFundraising Strategy & ExecutionDevelop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan targeting high- and low-dollar donors, PACs, institutional allies, and online contributors.Work closely with the Executive Director and caucus leadership to set goals and monitor progress.Assist in the creation of pitches for donors and national partners.Track and report fundraising performance regularly.Donor Management & EventsPlan and manage a wide range of fundraising events, from intimate gatherings to large-scale receptions with 100+ attendees.Oversee call time scheduling and staffing for caucus leadership and members, ensuring timely follow-up, pledge tracking, and thank-you outreach.Identify, research, and cultivate new donor prospects; maintain and expand the donor database.Member & Candidate SupportAssist Senate members and NCSDC candidates with personalized fundraising plans.Provide coaching and tools for effective donor engagement.Track fundraising progress for targeted campaigns and offer strategic guidance as needed.Assist campaign managers with tracking and meeting fundraising goals.Finance OperationsManage all direct mail, email, and online fundraising communications with corresponding consultants.Ensure accurate and timely reporting in collaboration with the NC Democratic Party's compliance team and the Executive Director.Maintain detailed and up-to-date donor records in NGP & Numero; serve as a direct supervisor for finance interns or staff if applicable.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsMinimum of two cycles of political fundraising experience or in a similar role, preferably in North Carolina or another competitive stateStrong commitment to electing Democrats to state governmentProficiency with NGP, VAN, ActBlue, Google Sheets, and Google Workspace (Proficiency with Numero is preferred)Strong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent time management and multitasking ability in a high-pressure environmentAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines with attention to detailExperience supervising finance staff is preferredFamiliarity with the North Carolina political landscape is preferredMust have a valid driver's license and reliable transportationCultural competency and ability to work with diverse teams and communitiesRegistered DemocratBenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insuranceLife insurance, short and long term disability insuranceBenefits begin on your first day of employmentOptional coverage available for partners and dependents (employee covers cost)Unlimited paid time off (subject to supervisor approval), paid holidays, and paid sick leaveHow to ApplyPlease use the following link to submit your application materials, which include a cover letter and resume.If any questions arise during the application process, please contact View email address on click.appcast.io applications are due by June 1, 2026.
