Sales Engineer III

Location: SEWS — Farmington Hills, Michigan Office. Hybrid position required 4 days in office per week. Job Title: Sales Engineer III Basic Purpose: Primary focus is to secure new business with General Motors and handle new business quoting for NABG. Lead NABG Sales Strategy. Responsibilities Identify, pursue and secure new business opportunities with Automotive OEMs, focusing on General Motors, including Ford, Stellantis, Rivian, Tesla, and other manufacturers. Develop multi‑year OEM business acquisition strategies aligned to vehicle platforms, model cycles and sourcing timelines. Lead RFQ/RFI/RFP activities: champion cross‑functional team meetings, develop pricing strategy, present to senior management for approval, and submit commercial proposals. Establish and maintain relationships with OEM purchasing, engineering and program teams as the primary commercial interface. Monitor automotive market trends, OEM strategies and competitive dynamics. Lead monthly Sales Strategy meetings focusing on current and past RFQ’s. Manage Customer financials: quoting, obtaining Purchase/Tool Orders, addressing extraordinary costs and securing customer approval for recovery throughout the program/project life using internal and customer systems. Participate in customer program/project team meetings and report all financial matters to relevant functional groups. Assist the Sales team in developing new/improved processes and procedures. Maintain a professional demeanor at all times. Qualifications / Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or adjacent discipline. 5+ years of automotive sales experience with strategic business development and experience with Global OEMs. Wire harness experience with General Motors is preferred. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required. Availability to be on call for meetings outside regular hours.
