ICU Registered Nurse (RN)Join our dynamic healthcare team as an ICU Registered Nurse (RN) in a mixed intensive care unit setting, dedicated to providing exceptional patient care to a diverse patient population. This position requires a strong clinical background and a passion for nursing in a fast-paced environment.General InformationBeds: 39 - Including MICU, SICU, CICU, TICU, organized into pods.Patient Ratios: 1:1 to 1:3 (rare), based on acuity.Unit Support: Includes 1-2 CNA nurse aides per unit and mobility float aides, along with a charge nurse overseeing all ICUs.Charting System: Epic (required).Patient TypesCare will be provided to complex ICU patients, including surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma cases. Common diagnoses include:ARDSMyocardial Infarction (MI)Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA)/Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA)COVID-19Post-cardiac catheterizationPost-surgical patientsMultiple system traumaMinimum Experience2 years of ICU experience excluding travel experience preferred.1.5 years of ICU experience may be considered if significant RN experience outside of ICU is demonstrated.Experience with complex critical care patients.Required CertificationsBLSACLSNIHSSTNCC (required prior to arrival)Education and SkillsCompletion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing.Registered Nurse (RN) credential in good standing.Epic experience is required.Comfortable working a 48-hour/week contract.Ability to handle IV medications (vasopressors, sedation, paralytics), hemodynamic lines, proning, ventilator management, and telemetry.Strong critical thinking and assessment skills.Preferred experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT.Orientation and SchedulingOrientation will include:1 day of hospital orientation.8-hour department orientation and iLearns.At least two 12-hour shifts of floor orientation.Scheduling details include:Weekend rotation is preferred but not guaranteed.No requests for time off during holidays or Sturgis Bike Rally.Time off approval for up to 7 days must be extended to accommodate a full 13-week contract.If you are looking to take on a challenging and rewarding role in ICU nursing, we encourage you to apply.
