Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

• 24 months gap required between for Travel at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Additional Details:

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

Special Requests: - If candidate worked at a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from the perm facility. - Eligibility as current/previous employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. - At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job being applied to.

Required Skills/Experience: - Overall strong neuro experience required.

Unit Details: - Long-term antibiotics unit. - Cares for patients with infections such as endocarditis, abscesses, septic arthritis, sepsis, osteomyelitis, and diabetic foot infections. - Many patients have underlying substance use histories and may be actively using or withdrawing from substances, with complex related behaviors. - Uses portable telemetry packs; no monitor techs, and nurses do not read or interpret strips.

Shift & Scheduling: - Weekends and holidays as scheduled.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

Driver’s license required for submission
