Qualifications & Experience Valid Special Education teaching certification or eligibility to obtain licensure Prior classroom experience with middle‑grade students preferred Understanding and application of individualized education plans (IEPs) Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including counselors and therapists Compassion, adaptability, and commitment to students’ personal and academic development Key Responsibilities Deliver purposeful, differentiated instruction to meet each student's unique needs within a therapeutic, structured classroom environment Foster a safe, supportive atmosphere that encourages positive behavioral and emotional growth Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, collaborating with families and school staff to ensure progress Integrate therapeutic strategies in daily teaching, working closely with counseling and support staff Assess student progress regularly and adjust plans to maximize learning outcomes Participate in ongoing professional development to remain current with educational best practices and behavioral interventions Explore the reward of making a meaningful difference in the lives of students who thrive with extra guidance and encouragement.
