About the Position

Patient ratios usually maintain at 6:1. The staffing model includes Patient Care Technicians and Support Nurses for assistance, along with Unit Secretaries during day shift hours. The documentation system utilized on this unit is Meditech. Scheduling occurs in 4-week increments, with full-time staff required to work 4 weekend shifts. Floating policies allow staff to float to inpatient units, including tasks in critical care and emergency departments. All levels of experience are welcome to apply. This unit requires BLS certification. Staff are expected to adhere to the dress code, which includes scrub tops and bottoms, with certain limitations on additional clothing items. Procedures performed on the unit are primarily conducted by physicians at the bedside, though not as frequently as in critical care or emergency settings. Consideration for new technology and equipment, as well as the experience and tenure of staff, may enhance the decision to join this unit.
