English-Speaking and Bilingual Flight Attendants
Delta Air Lines
Reach New Heights: Join Delta Air Lines as a Flight Attendant in Atlanta. Delta Air Lines is looking for compassionate, quick‑thinking, and service‑driven individuals to join our In‑Flight Services team based in Atlanta, Georgia. Whether you're a fluent English speaker or bring the gift of an additional language, this could be the start of an extraordinary career with one of the most awarded airlines in the United States. We're currently hiring both English‑speaking Flight Attendants and Bilingual Flight Attendants (what we call LOD—Language of Destination). If you're applying for a bilingual role, you'll need to be fluent in English and one of the following: Czech, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Italian, Korean, or Swedish. You'll also complete a language assessment during the hiring process. Once hired, bilingual Flight Attendants commit to the LOD program for two years. What You’ll Do Every Day Prioritize the safety and comfort of every customer on every flight. Deliver exceptional customer service in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment. Use problem‑solving and clear communication to respond to in‑flight needs with professionalism. Represent Delta's core values—Care, Integrity, Resilience, and Servant Leadership—in every interaction. Support a global 24/7 operation, working non‑traditional hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Practice safety‑conscious behaviors in every process and procedure. Manage unexpected changes calmly in time‑sensitive, sometimes stressful environments. Answer questions and assist customers, especially those with unique needs or circumstances. Show up on time and reliably, regardless of time zone differences or personal commuting challenges. Stay flexible when last‑minute schedule adjustments or operational demands arise. Work confidently as a self‑starter, making thoughtful decisions alongside fellow crew members when immediate leadership isn't available. Operate and demonstrate safety and emergency equipment, respond to onboard emergencies including ditching situations, and administer basic first aid or CPR when needed. Give clear, accurate directions—verbally or non‑verbally—to customers during emergencies. Make decisions that align with Delta's policies, procedures, and core values. Prepare, serve, and sell beverages (including alcohol) and meals (which may include beef, pork, seafood, peanuts, etc.). Help customers lift and stow luggage into overhead bins. Keep customers safe and comfortable during delays or turbulence. Regularly make public address and safety announcements in line with company and federal standards. Perform duties in changing environments, including managing the physiological effects of altitude. What You Need to Qualify Eligibility to work in the United States. At least 21 years old at the time of application. A high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. Fluency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English. Ability to obtain and keep a current passport with at least 30 months of validity remaining before your first day of training. Non‑US passport holders must also show documents proving unrestricted entry and exit from the United States. Ability to pass a pre‑employment DOT drug test and comprehensive background check. Ability to sit and fasten the seatbelt and shoulder harness on the jump seat of any aircraft in our fleet. Ability to simultaneously reach 76 inches (6 feet, 4 inches) from the floor and 35 inches (3 feet) in width to safely close a standard Boeing 767 aircraft door. Ability to open emergency exits and close aircraft doors weighing up to 60 pounds, and push or pull a food and beverage cart requiring 32 pounds of force. A commitment to privacy when handling personal data. An embrace of diverse people, thinking, and styles. A consistent focus on safety and security for yourself and others. Willingness to accept assignment to any Flight Attendant base after training, based on operational needs. Bilingual Flight Attendants must remain at their assigned base for a minimum of two years after training. Ability to attend and complete seven consecutive weeks of paid training in Atlanta. Willingness to relocate or commute (via standby travel) to and from your assigned base, and fly both international and domestic routes. Readiness to adapt to last‑minute scheduling changes. Willingness to adhere to Delta's Candidate Appearance Requirements and Flight Attendant Appearance Requirements. Understanding of Delta's Flight Attendant Application Policy: candidates who apply in June 2026 or later may submit one application (or reapply) no sooner than six months after their previous application, and only under a new job posting number. Creating multiple profiles to bypass this policy may result in automatic disqualification or restrictions on future applications. It’s Even Better If You Have A degree beyond high school or GED (preferred but not required). Benefits and Perks That Help You Keep Climbing Competitive salary, industry‑leading profit sharing, and performance incentives. 401(k) with generous company contributions up to 9%. Paid time off including vacation, holidays, personal time, and maternity and parental leave. Comprehensive health benefits: medical, dental, vision, short/long‑term disability, and life insurance. Family care assistance including fertility support, surrogacy and adoption assistance, lactation support, subsidized back‑up care, and programs supporting loved ones at all stages. Holistic wellbeing programs covering physical, emotional, social, and financial health, plus an employee assistance program for you and anyone in your household. Domestic and international space‑available flight privileges for employees and eligible family members. Career development programs to help you achieve long‑term goals. Worldwide partnerships for community service and sustainability initiatives. Business Resource Groups connecting employees with shared interests to promote inclusion and provide perspective.
