Through these experiences, peers are better equipped to lead healthy lives and participate in their communities. What's your day like? As a Part-Time Cook at The Main Place in Mt. Vernon, OH, you will play a vital role in enhancing our dining services. Your responsibilities will include selecting and setting out food for a delicious continental breakfast, ensuring our early risers start our day off right. Additionally, you will prepare hearty homestyle lunches for 25-35 people, with meals ready to serve promptly at 11:30 AM. You will also be responsible for monitoring and managing food inventory, ensuring that all ingredients are fresh and available for meal preparation. This position offers a unique opportunity to showcase your culinary talents while contributing to a customer-centric environment focused on quality care. Would you be a great Cook? To excel as a Part-Time Cook at The Main Place, you will need strong cooking skills with an emphasis on preparing nutritious homestyle meals, typically including an entrée and sides of vegetables and/or fruit. Familiarity with managing a limited food budget and utilizing local food pantry resources is crucial for success in this role. While Serv Safe certification is a plus, it is not required, as we offer opportunities for you to become certified during your tenure. A willingness to work in an environment that supports individuals with lived experiences of mental illness is essential, as it fosters a compassionate approach to our culinary services.
