For more information review the NEOGOV Application Guide and Frequently Asked Questions.General ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the Registered Behavior Technician is responsible for the implementation of behavior intervention plans developed by the IEP team, collecting data and conducting assessments.Salary: Candidates without a current RBT credential: $27.94 per hour Candidates with current RBT credential: full salary range $30.18 - $36.72 per hour Offers are made at the beginning of the range. Assignment: This position will serve Florens Academy, a program that serves aggressive adolescent aged youth with significant developmental delays. Florens will provide instructional behavioral, and social/emotional support and activities to the youth served. This position is will be 8 hours per day, 210 days per year, and will start August 2026.Regular attendance required: This role relies on regular and reliable attendance to ensure consistency for our students and help support a positive, productive learning environment. This position is Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Regular attendance during those hours are expected. Only complete applications will be considered.A complete application will include:Complete work history section, including ANY and ALL employment going back 10 yearsAt least three professional references and contact informationA cover letter expressing interest in the positionA resume that reflects work experience listed on applicationEssential Functions/Other FunctionsEssential Functions:Perform tasks assigned by the BCBA/BCaBAAssist the Special Education Teacher, consistent with IEP or IFSP goals, in lesson plan implementation; one-on-one & small group instruction; classroom management; student observation & assessment; and communication with parents and staff.Collect data and report student progress.Maintain accurate data collection records.Communicate with staff and parents as instructed by the Special Education Teacher.Implement, assess, and evaluate implementation of student intervention plans and programs; provide input and feedback to teachers, parents, other appropriate team members and the Assistant Director.Implement positive behavior intervention systems.Manage crisis intervention by maintaining a safe, classroom environment for the students.Participate as a member of the education team. May attend parent conferences.Maintain regular attendance to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position.Other Functions:Other duties as assigned.Attend various training sessions needed in order to maintain an up-to-date understanding of behavioral intervention and other related meetings.Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & SkillsMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED.Hold or obtain a valid Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential within 60 days of employment.Experience working with students with behavior or mental health issues.Preferred Qualifications:Two years of experience as a Registered Behavior Technician.Training and/or experience in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention techniques.Training and/or experience in implementation of positive behavior supports.Training and/or experience in Collaborative Problem Solving.Training in functional behavior analysis.Working knowledge of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) regulations and procedures.Working Conditions/Employment RequirementsWorking Conditions:Classroom setting, may move from classroom to classroom to provide services.Provide assistance and attend to the physical needs of students including moving and positioning students and assisting with personal hygiene needs, including but not limited to: tube feeding, catheterization, changing diapers, toileting.Job involves sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 35 pounds, carrying, reaching, grasping, bending, stooping, crouching, pushing and pulling.Regular attendance during assigned work schedule.Students may use challenging or offensive verbalizations toward staff and other students with potential to escalation to physical aggression.Employment Requirements:Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.Notice of Non-DiscriminationESD 112 does not discriminate in any programs or activities on the basis of race, religion, creed, color, sex, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, gender expression or identity, age, honorably discharged veteran or military status, the presence of any sensory, mental, or physical disability, or the use of a trained guide dog or service animal by a disabled person.
