Principal Product Designer - PMTS

Overview Salesforce is hiring for a design role focused on AI-enabled autonomous agents in enterprise sales. You will work on Piper, an AI SDR that runs autonomous sales conversations, follows up with prospects, and moves pipeline without a human in the loop. You will design on two surfaces: Piper’s brain (how Piper understands leads, forms a plan, and explains its reasoning) and Piper’s live presence (chat and video experience where the AI is the rep). Responsibilities and expectations emphasize building intuitive interfaces that help users understand AI behavior, trust the AI when it is correct, catch it when it is wrong, and shape it toward user needs. You will collaborate directly with engineering and ML teams, own design decisions, and contribute to product direction. What you’ll work on The first surface is Piper’s brain: how Piper understands a lead, forms a plan, and explains its reasoning. Design the interface for shaping its personality, goals, and objection handling, focusing on a thinking partner experience rather than a settings panel. The second surface is Piper’s live presence: the chat and video experience where the AI serves as the veteran representative. Focus on micro-interactions, latency handling, turn-taking, and tone to feel credible rather than uncanny. The design patterns for autonomous agents in enterprise sales are still being established, and you’ll help define them at production scale. How you work Taste Over Process. Concretely: You prototype in code or with AI tools, not just in Figma You are faster with agents than most designers are without them You ship design decisions, not just document them Qualifications 6+ years of product design, with at least 2 years on AI or conversational experiences Understanding of LLM behavior (latency, streaming, confidence, failure modes) and design for it honestly Fluent in AI tooling as a core part of how you work, not an experiment Strong visual and interaction craft with good taste Comfortable without a detailed brief; you define the problem alongside the solution Works directly with engineering and ML; no handoff culture Nice to have Voice, video, or real-time communication design background Familiarity with enterprise sales or CRM workflows Experience designing multi-step autonomous workflows Why Join Qualified The design patterns for AI agents in enterprise sales are still being established. In the United States, base salary ranges are typically provided, with variations by location. The typical base salary range for this position is $197,300 – $313,700 annually. In select cities, ranges may be $237,700 – $344,700 annually. The range represents base salary only and does not include bonuses, equity, or benefits.
