Loan Compliance Specialist

Description Position Summary Loan Compliance Specialists are responsible for reviewing loan documentation and ensuring compliance with bank policy and regulatory requirements. The nature of this position requires inside contact with company employees at several levels as well as infrequent contact with outside parties. Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Identifies and communicates regulatory compliance, deficiencies or potential problems, and provides guidance in the development of alternative solutions or corrective action.
- Report audit findings and make recommendations for the correction of unsatisfactory conditions and improvements in loan documentation.
- Remain current on all pertinent lending and other financial institution-related laws and regulations.
- Evaluates compliance with regulations applicable to the bank's operations in all aspects of the loan department.
- Reviews loan files for perfection of collateral and ensuring the proper documents were utilized.
- Works with loan documentation support to utilize applications to fullest capacity.
- Assists with ensuring accuracy and compliance settings within loan documentation systems.
- Maintains the highest level of confidentiality with all information obtained.
- Perform as a team member in allocating and coordinating the work flow.
- Contribute to the fulfillment of department and company objectives and goals.
- Comply with all department and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Be well organized and pay close attention to details.
- Meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Strong analytical skills, attentiveness, and information retention.
- Detail oriented, high degree of accuracy.
- Familiar with banking regulations and responsibilities relating to each, including a working knowledge of UCC titles, mortgages, liens, and other aspects of the loan collateral position.
- Knowledge of loan documentation procedures and requirements.
- Mathematical skills.
- Ability to utilize resources available to complete assigned projects.
- Self-starter, ability to work independently.
- Strong communication & organizational skills.
- Proven investigative skills.
- Competence with computers and Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & under pressure as needed.
- The ability to make sound decisions.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- 1+ years of banking experience required.
- Previous compliance experience preferred but not required
- Knowledge of Loan Documentation software preferred.
