Registered Nurse

Position in the Emergency Room with a patient ratio of 1:3. First-timers are accepted. Weekend shifts required every other weekend. Floating within service line and between facilities as needed is expected. Daily census averages 240 visits. The nurse will care for a diverse patient age group including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Experience in managing cardiac monitoring and emergency response is necessary. Clinical skills include IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line care. Responsibilities involve medication administration including continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation. Knowledge in neurological and psychiatric emergencies is necessary. Experience with trauma cases such as gunshot wounds and head injuries is critical. Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and manage ventilated patients is important. Isolation precautions and triage skills are required. Nurses must be proficient in floating to other units and facilities if needed.
