About the Role

\n

The University of Kentucky HealthCare is seeking a Board-Certified Chief of Developmental Pediatrics to lead the Divisions clinical, research, and academic missions. This leader will shape the Divisions research strategy, strengthen its clinical programs, and support faculty development while enhancing excellence in pediatric care.

Practice Highlights

\n

Research Leadership

\n

\n
• Seek and secure grant funding to advance developmental pediatrics research.
\n
• Provide research leadership, coordination, and oversight for all Division research activities.
\n
• Collaborate with Pediatric and UK faculty to support academic output aligned with Division and Department priorities.
\n
• Apply for and maintain IRB protocols.
\n
• Plan, participate in, and support the implementation of evidence-based interventions.
\n
• Disseminate findings through publications, conferences, community education, and partnerships with schools and agencies.
\n

Patient Care

\n

\n
• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care for children with developmental and behavioral challenges in an outpatient-focused setting.
\n

\n

Administration & Leadership

\n

\n
• Advance the mission and vision of the Division through strategic planning and operational oversight.
\n
• Mentor faculty and staff to enhance clinical efficiency and interdisciplinary collaboration.
\n
• Optimize clinical services and promote excellence across all programmatic initiatives.
\n

\n

Professional Development

\n

\n
• Actively engage in professional societies, advisory groups, study sections, and other academic or scientific activities that support career and program advancement.
\n

\n

Schedule & Practice Details

\n

\n
• Outpatient-focused program with multidisciplinary support.
\n
• Collaborative team includes:\n

  • 5 Advanced Practice Providers
  \n
  • 4 Nurses
  \n
  • 9 Support Staff
  \n
\n
• No inpatient call responsibilities, allowing focus on leadership, faculty mentorship, and program development.
\n
• Work hours and schedule are flexible, based on outpatient volume and program need.
\n

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Education: M.D./D.O. degree or equivalent
\n
• Experience: Eligibility for or actively licensed to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Completed a residency in Pediatrics and a fellowship in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics
\n
• Certifications: Board-certified in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics
