CDL Driver Class A

Position Purpose The CDL Driver at SRS ensures safety, timely delivery of building materials to job sites, verifies inventory, follows safety protocols, and maintains high service standards. This role supports operational efficiency and fosters strong customer relationships through professionalism, teamwork, and responsiveness. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before each trip. Verify inventory accuracy and ensure damage‑free deliveries. Assess job site conditions to prevent hazards. Collaborate with customers for material placement. Document deliveries with photos per company policy. Load and unload materials using forklifts or manual methods, handling items up to 100 lbs. Operate in varied weather and noisy environments, reading job‑related documents in English. Minimum Qualifications Valid CDL Class A or B with air brakes endorsement. Clean driving record. Experience operating forklifts safely. Physical capability for long hours driving and handling materials up to 100 lbs. Minimum 1–2 years of commercial driving experience. 18+ years old (21+ for interstate/hazmat), pass background checks, drug tests, and E‑Verify. Verification via the FMCSA Clearinghouse. Preferred Qualifications Hazmat endorsement. Strong vehicle maintenance skills. Experience with multi‑drop deliveries. Familiarity with fleet management systems. Commitment to continuous improvement. Multilingual abilities are a plus. Certifications Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A or CDL B) with Air Brakes Endorsement. Current DOT Medical Certificate. Forklift Certification – Preferred. FMCSA Registration – Required. Working Conditions The role requires long hours, fast‑paced schedules, and varying weather conditions while traveling within a 200‑mile radius—no overnight stays. It involves safe, timely deliveries, on‑site coordination, and occasional yard support. Compensation & Benefits Base salary typically ranges from $23.51 to $29.90 per hour. Hourly associates may be eligible for overtime based on business needs and performance‑based bonus programs, commissions, an automobile and fuel program, and reimbursement for travel expenses in accordance with company policy.
