School Bus Mechanic

Qualifications: High School diploma or GED. Previous experience providing maintenance and repair of transportation vehicles. Previous experience maintaining/repairing school buses and diesel engines preferred. Pervious experience with vehicle body work a plus. Current Class B CDL with Passenger Endorsement, no Air Brake Restriction, and clean driving record. Current Class 7 State Inspection license. School Bus Endorsement preferred. Must be flexible. Description: The School District of Springfield Township (SDST) in Montgomery County, PA borders Philadelphia and is incredibly accessible to surrounding areas by just a short drive. Responsibilities: Diagnose, repair, and maintain school buses, trucks, mowers, vans, and other equipment as assigned. Maintain adequate supply of all inventory and supplies. Provide emergency road service to district vehicles. Suggest changes to improve efficiency, service, safety and costs. Assist drivers when required to maintain proper fuel supply, engine oil level, transmission oil level, engine coolant level, and proper air pressure in tires. Maintain a clean and orderly work area. Assist with snow and ice removal as needed. Transport school students as necessary when staffing needs demand.
