Medical Device Assembly Operator IRequired Education • High school diploma or equivalent.Required Qualifications • Previous manufacturing, assembly, electronics, or precision production experience. • Six months or more of experience in medical device manufacturing or another regulated production environment. • Ability to read and understand written procedures and follow verbal instructions at approximately a seventh-grade comprehension level. • Ability to use electronic data collection systems and basic computer software. • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle small components accurately. • Ability to prioritize work and manage assigned tasks according to production needs. • Sound judgment and the ability to make appropriate decisions within established procedures. • Ability to perform sustained microscope work for the majority of the workday, depending on line assignment. • Willingness to comply with all safety, cleanliness, and controlled-environment requirements. • Willingness to work overtime on Fridays and Saturdays based on business needs.As a Medical Device Assembly Operator I, you will perform routine and repetitive assembly operations under direct supervision in a controlled manufacturing environment. You will help produce high-quality medical device components by following established procedures, maintaining accurate production records, and meeting safety and quality standards. This role is well suited to candidates who are detail-oriented, comfortable handling small components, and able to perform precision work using a microscope for extended periods.Responsibilities • Perform routine assembly operations according to established work instructions and manufacturing procedures. • Handle and maneuver small components with precision and care. • Use a microscope for approximately 50–90% of the workday, depending on the assigned production line. • Maintain accurate production documentation, work travelers, and quality records to support product traceability. • Use electronic data collection systems and computer applications to document manufacturing activities. • Identify production issues, perform basic troubleshooting, and communicate problems or potential improvements to supervisors. • Follow all safety requirements and use appropriate protective equipment. • Perform applicable routine and preventive maintenance on equipment and tools. • Participate in quality initiatives, lean manufacturing activities, and continuous improvement efforts. • Work collaboratively with team members, demonstrating effective communication, active listening, flexibility, and conflict resolution. • Support production goals and performance metrics while maintaining consistent quality standards. • Represent the company professionally during facility tours and interactions with internal and external visitors. • Follow company policies, quality management systems, environmental requirements, and other applicable regulatory procedures.Work Environment and Dress Requirements This role operates in a controlled manufacturing environment with strict cleanliness and contamination-prevention standards. Employees must wear clean, low-shedding clothing that fits under the required lab coat or gown. Clothing must cover the torso, upper arms, and legs and must be free of loose fibers, fraying, glitter, sequins, and other detachable materials. Closed-toe, closed-heel shoes and socks or stockings are required. Restrictions apply to loose-fitting clothing, sweaters, fleece, makeup, nail polish, artificial nails, strong fragrances, and jewelry that may interfere with safety or protective equipment. Religious and cultural head coverings are permitted when they comply with facility gowning requirements. Open wounds must be covered with an appropriate bandage. Detailed gowning and dress requirements will be provided before the facility tour and during onboarding.
