Recycling Technician, Forklift Exp Preferred - Night Shift

What You'll Do for Us

• Operate a variety of recycling equipment and compactor systems to process materials including plastics, paper, and cardboard
• Perform routine checks to ensure reliable performance of recycling and related manufacturing equipment
• Identify and resolve minor technical or mechanical issues to maintain operational continuity
• Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and permit requirements
• Ensure all work areas are clean, organized, and free from hazards to support safe operations
• Accurately document and maintain records on recycling activity, equipment performance, and compliance measures
• Segregate recyclable materials effectively within production and compactor areas for proper handling
• Support emergency response activities related to waste management and recycling initiatives
• Participate in project assignments to enhance sustainability practices and process improvements
• Obtain and maintain all required certifications, including forklift and genie boom operator credentials, within the established timeframe
• Demonstrate accountability and readiness to lead within assigned responsibilities by recommending opportunities for operational improvement

Requirements & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred with ability to operate and maintain production equipment
• Forklift operator certification desirable; must attain forklift and genie boom certifications within required period
• Ability to work independently on tasks with minimal supervision while meeting safety and quality standards
• Physical capability to climb, bend, kneel, twist, and lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, basic diagrams, and standard operating procedures
• Mechanical aptitude with the capability to troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance after training
• Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts, night schedule on a 2-2-3 rotation, and additional hours or on-call assignments as needed
• Proficiency in English with the ability to understand written and verbal instructions
• Commitment to complete all role-related certifications within defined deadlines
