Utility Pole Inspection - Field Laborer Detroit, Michigan Job Responsibilities Perform various field services supporting the inspection and maintenance of electric distribution utility poles. Perform hand excavation around the base of wood utility poles. Assist with the inspection and treatment of the pole. Operate necessary hand tools, including but not limited to shovel, drill, and hammer to assess pole structural integrity and longevity. Achieve weekly production goals as defined by the project guidelines. Wear appropriate PPE and present a professional appearance and attitude. Demonstrate high work standards and attention to detail. Show ability to communicate with the public, customers, other team members, and leadership. Assist in storm response when activated by the utility company. Travel Requirements Full‑time travel throughout the State of MI is required for this position. Required Qualifications & Education High School Diploma. Working knowledge of computers and software applications (MS Office products). Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Must be able to pass a pre‑employment drug test. Must be able to complete a satisfactory background check. Be able to pass an internal training program (written and field evaluation). Ability to work long hours in all types of weather and terrain.
