Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager owns the accounting function for the Property Management Firm on behalf of the property management team and ownership. This role ensures accurate, timely, and well-controlled financial processes across the portfolio, delivers reliable owner reporting, and provides financial advisory support to ownership on portfolio performance, cash flow, and capital needs. CPA preferred however will consider qualified candidates. Position Salary Expectations: $70,000 to $95,000 Annually 1099 Position / Full Time

Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable & Coding Oversee accounts payable/accounts receivable and invoice processing across the portfolio; ensure timely, accurate cycles Review and approve GL coding performed by property accountants for accuracy and consistency across the portfolio's chart of accounts Establish and maintain accounting controls, policies, and procedures for the portfolio Budgeting Review, approve, and consolidate property-level budgets into portfolio-level budgets Analyze budget-to-actual performance across the portfolio and flag variances for management action Owner Reporting Prepare and/or review monthly, quarterly, and annual owner reporting packages across the portfolio Consolidate property-level financials into portfolio-level summaries for ownership and investors Respond to owner/investor inquiries on financial performance and reporting detail Reconciliations & Disbursements Oversee bank and CAM reconciliations performed by property accounting staff; resolve escalated discrepancies Review and approve owner disbursement calculations prior to distribution; ensure accuracy and proper support Provide ownership with cash flow analysis, expense trend reporting, and input on capital planning Support ownership and asset management with ad hoc financial analysis as needed Coordinate with external auditors, tax preparers, and lenders on financial reporting requirements Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in commercial real estate or property management Proficiency with property/portfolio accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, AppFolio) and advanced Excel Strong knowledge of CAM reconciliation, lease accounting, and GAAP Experience managing or reviewing the work of staff accountants; strong attention to detail and controls mindset #J-18808-Ljbffr Mayhugh Commercial Advisors
