Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 3+ Years of CVOR Experience, Open Heart Experience License: Active Michigan License Certifications: Active American Heart Association BLS, Active American Heart Association ACLS Must-Have: - 3+ Years of CVOR Experience - Open Heart Experience - Recent Travel Work History (Highly Preferred) Description: This position is responsible for assessing the needs of each patient before and during a surgical procedure. Maintains patient safety throughout the surgical process. The RN outlines individual care plans, implements, evaluates, and documents care of the patient during surgical procedures. Provides leadership to the operating room team. Communicates effectively with the patient, family, surgical team, supervisors, and ancillary departments. Participates in staff development through preceptorship and continuing education. Responsibilities: Assesses the needs of the surgical patient and develops a specific plan of care. Implements and evaluates the plan of care during the procedure. Makes necessary adjustments to prioritize patient safety. Supervises activities within the operating room. Anticipates and coordinates any schedule changes. Assembles required equipment and supplies. Assists anesthesia as necessary and monitors the sterile field. Communicates with patients, families, physicians, and the surgical team. Participates in staff development by attending educational meetings and in-services. Engages in seminars for educational and leadership growth opportunities.
