This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.

FDM is seeking a Senior Data Engineer located in New York to support a project in the financial sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 1-2 years but may be extended.

This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 3-4 days per week.

Overview

Weare seeking a highly skilled SeniorData & AI Engineer to support critical regulatoryand financial planning initiatives, with a particular focus on CCAR (Comprehensive Capital Analysis andReview) modelling and workflow enablement. This rolecombines data engineering, application development, AI capabilities, andfinancial modelling support to deliver scalable solutions across front-enddashboards and back-end analytical platforms.

Theideal candidate will possess strong programming expertise in Java, Python, and/or Scala, as well asexperience working with Snowflake and modern AI technologies. Knowledge of FP&A (Financial Planning &Analysis) concepts is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain applications supporting CCAR and related financial modelling processes.
• Build and enhance front-end dashboarding solutions using Java-based technologies.
• Develop and support back-end analytical models, workflows, and data processing pipelines using Python or Scala.
• Design and optimize data solutions within Snowflake, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and data integrity.
• Implement AI-driven capabilities to improve modelling accuracy, workflow efficiency, and business insights.
• Partner with Risk, Finance, FP&A, and Technology teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Support end-to-end workflow orchestration, automation, and monitoring for regulatory and finance programmes.
• Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture, security, governance, and regulatory standards.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, production support, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field.
• 5-6 years of professional experience in software engineering, data engineering, or quantitative technology roles.
• Strong programming experience in:
• Java (required for dashboarding/front-end development)
• Python and/or Scala (required for modelling and workflow development)
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake data platform.
• Experience designing and supporting data pipelines, workflow automation, and analytical solutions.
• Demonstrated AI/ML competency, including the ability to leverage AI technologies within business applications and data workflows.
• Strong SQL and data modelling skills.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
