Givens Aldersgate is looking for a full-time Sous Chef to support our culinary leadership team. In this role you will craft nutritious, flavorful, and high-quality meals that enhance the lives of our residents. The schedule for this role will rotate between 9 am -6 pm and 10:30 am to close along with rotating weekends.
What you'll do:
- Assist in the development and execution of seasonal health-conscious menus
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and quality of meals served
- Maintain a warm, welcoming dining atmosphere that reflects restaurant-style hospitality
- Engage with residents to understand their preferences and personalized dining experience
- Oversee food preparation and ensure compliance with safety sanitation standards
- Maintain inventory and work with vendors to source high quality ingredients
- Maintain adherence to senior living dietary regulations and special meal accommodations
- Train, mentor, and support kitchen staff
- Collaborate with dietitians and healthcare professionals to accommodate residents' nutritional needs
What you'll need:
- Culinary Degree or extensive professional kitchen experience
- 3-5 years of experience in a leadership culinary role
- Strong knowledge of wellness-focused cuisine and specialized dietary accommodations
Compensation is $58,000 - $61,000 per year, based on background and experience
