This opportunity involves contributing to the delivery of roadside toll facilities, including planning, design, construction, implementation, analysis and operational oversight, managing the process from concept of operations through procurement of systems and services and during operations, and providing leadership and consultation to toll facility projects as a subject matter expert. What You’ll Do Responsible for overall direction and monitoring of the delivery of toll technology services for HNTB’s projects and programs. Responsible for development of the project scope and fee quotation and assists in preparing technical proposals and contracts in accordance with HNTB’s Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA). Serves as the primary client liaison and manages the project team to deliver the scope, schedule, and budgets to completion and to the client’s satisfaction. Assists with client project scoping and contract negotiations. Performs technical discipline tasks including toll planning, design, implementation and operations for assigned projects. Implements the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB’s Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project. Leads the development and execution of the project management plan. Supervises and mentors the team toward overall project objectives. Responsible for quality assurance and adherence to quality control practices applicable to toll technology projects. Partners with Client Service Leaders and pursuit champions to assist with business development, building client relationships, and pursuit efforts for mini‑mega and mega projects in accordance with HNTB’s Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA). May serve as pursuit champion for assigned projects. Works with the project team and marketing resources to prepare appropriate proposal and presentation materials. Leads proposal development and interview presentations for mini‑mega and mega projects to the client as well as general presentations within the industry and community. Has direct client communication on a regular basis in a project management or advisory role based on areas of expertise. May assist with client audits. Leads or supports toll technology projects and supports other senior consultants at multiple points in the project life cycle of toll technology consulting. Leads or supports planning activities such as assisting in the development of feasibility studies, assessments, concept of operations documents, procurement documents such as requests for proposal for toll systems and operations. Provides toll technology and policy planning as well as implementation and operations consulting as an advisor to toll clients and HNTB local offices. May be responsible for the recruitment, hiring, mentoring, development and retention of staff, including development of a plan for staff reporting and workload monitoring, performance and compensation reviews, and succession planning. Performs other duties as assigned. What You’ll Need Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Accounting/Finance, Planning, Business or a related field and 10 years of relevant experience, or 14 years of related experience in lieu of the education requirement. What You’ll Bring Subject matter expertise, project management and technical support for construction and roadside toll equipment projects throughout the state both for the Turnpike and other FDOT districts. Participation, coordination and support of the timely delivery of roadside tolling projects from concept to completion. Coordination with district staff, construction project management, CEI staff and toll system vendors to ensure open communication and expectations of project deliverables and major milestones. Providing routine updates to leadership, attending progress and pre‑construction meetings, reviewing Critical Path Method (CPM), scheduling and coordinating toll vendor activities. Producing presentations and presenting to large groups of people. What We Prefer 8 years of tolls engineering, construction, implementation, testing, maintenance, operations and management experience. Familiarity with FDOT’s requirements, policies, procedures and industry standards for toll systems. Experience with managed lanes or express lanes, particularly from the software perspective, SELS or NGSELS. PMP certification. Locations Boca Raton, FL; Ocoee, FL (FTE Turnpike Headquarters).
