Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to obstetric patients in a Labor and Delivery unit, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of newborns while supporting maternal health. Collaborate with medical teams to deliver high-quality patient care and promote positive birth experiences.

Responsibilities:

Administer patient care in accordance with established protocols, policies, and standards.
Collaborate with OB/GYN doctors, pediatricians, and other healthcare staff to coordinate patient treatment plans.
Monitor fetal and maternal vital signs, responding to any complications during labor and delivery.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient status, procedures, and outcomes.
Assist with deliveries, including neonatal resuscitation and post-delivery care.
Float to MS, ICU, and ER as needed to support hospital staffing and patient needs.

Qualifications:

Valid state registered nurse license required at the time of submission.
Minimum of 2 years of obstetric nursing experience.
Certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NRP.
Ability to work night shifts (3x12 hours) with flexibility for occasional float to different units.
Experience with block scheduling and unit scrub color preferred.
Current license in Kansas or a compact state.
