Growing together.Responsible for providing integrated support under the supervision of a pharmacist to Optum clinicians and patients by managing refill requests and prior authorizations, conducting therapeutic drug conversions and supporting pharmacy wellness programs.Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5pm PST with rotating Sundays every 4-6 weeksLocation: RemoteYou will enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate Optum's commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care and concern with each internal and external customerDevelop proficiencies in utilizing Epic EMRWorks with others as part of the team and a member of the Pharmacy Support Center by processing medication refill requests per protocol, facilitating non-protocol refill requests, obtaining prior authorizations and resolving other medication refill related cost issues or problems Enters prescription information into the computer system, including searching for patient records, identifying prescribers, reviewing charts and lab information, choosing medications, interpreting prescriptions, and ensuring accurate documentation within Epic EMRAccurately review and process electronic prescriptions, faxed prescriptions, MyChart renewals, and additional medication related requests per department guidelines and proceduresAssists in management of pharmacy department pools, managing open encounters and in-basket messagesResponsible for understanding pharmacy benefits, identifying correct insurance, reviewing health plan formularies and processing prior authorizations for medications that are not covered by patient's insuranceParticipates in therapeutic drug conversion programs per protocol, documenting drug conversions in the electronic medical record, notifying providers of drug conversionsAssists in Pharmacy Quality Initiatives: Medication adherence programs (i.e. reviewing lists, calling pharmacy or patients, etc.)Managing quality listsDocumentationClosing administrative gapsUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publicationsWorks independently and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously without review by othersSolves routine problems on own; works with supervisor to solve more complex problemsPrioritizes and organizes own work to meet department deadlines, productivity metrics, and/or turnaround timesParticipates in process improvement initiatives and departmental meetingsComplies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectivesConsistent, dependable, and expected attendance is requiredPerforms additional duties as required or directed by department leads and supervisorsUses, protects, and discloses Optum patients' protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standardsWhat are the reasons to consider working for UnitedHealth Group? The hourly pay for this role will range from $16 - $29 per hour based on full-time employment.
