Tool Service Technician

What you’ll do: Responsible for the safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex Tools and Specialty Equipment at branch or customer locations involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, welding, and hoisting Perform intermediate level diagnostics and repairs on a variety of Tools and systems utilizing working knowledge of schematics and diagrams Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed When required travel to customer site for repair/maintenance of rental or owned equipment May assist in the pick up and delivery of equipment and parts to and from outside vendors and other United Rentals, Inc. locations for purchase and/or repair Other duties assigned as needed Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent 3-5 years of experience repairing/maintaining Specialty Tools Must own tools applicable to position Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools Working knowledge of schematics and diagrams Working knowledge of Specialty Tools; manufacturers’ warranty access; and work order/time spent accounting Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record Ability to coach and mentor less experienced service technicians Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
