Job Description
The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing and organizing ingredients to support kitchen operations while maintaining food safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in a fast-paced quick service restaurant environment.
- Maintain proper and clean uniform at all times
- Arrive on time and follow attendance policies
- Prepare ingredients including chopping, slicing, portioning, and labeling
- Ensure proper food storage, labeling, and FIFO procedures
- Maintain correct food temperatures and storage conditions
- Assist cooks with food preparation and station setup
- Keep prep areas clean, sanitized, and organized
- Stock and replenish kitchen supplies as needed
- Follow all side duties assigned by management
- Follow sanitation and safety standards
- Maintain a positive attitude and have fun
Qualifications
- Basic English comprehension skills
- Ability to follow prep lists and instructions
- Knowledge of food safety practices (or willingness to learn)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Previous kitchen or prep experience preferred but not required
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Stand and work for extended periods (8+ hours)
- Lift and move items 25 lbs or more
- Work in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy environment
- Maintain sanitation and food safety standards
- Safely use cleaning chemicals and kitchen equipment
