The Weekend Shift Powder Painter (Friday–Sunday, 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM) plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by applying high-quality powder coatings to various metal components and products.

This position ensures finished goods meet strict aesthetic and durability standards through precise and consistent powder application techniques. The Powder Painter is responsible for preparing surfaces, operating powder coating equipment, and monitoring the curing process to achieve optimal results.

This role requires close attention to detail and adherence to safety standards while collaborating with production and quality control teams to maintain workflow efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in powder coating or industrial painting preferred but not required
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols
• Manual dexterity and basic mechanical aptitude
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating powder coating equipment in a manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with powder coating and curing processes
• Knowledge of quality control standards in surface finishing
• Certification in industrial painting or powder coating techniques
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare metal surfaces through cleaning, sanding, or masking to ensure proper powder adhesion
• Operate powder coating equipment including spray guns and booths
• Apply powder coatings evenly to meet quality and thickness specifications
• Monitor curing ovens and adjust settings as needed
• Inspect finished products for defects and report quality issues
• Maintain a clean and safe work area following all safety guidelines
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to meet schedule and quality targets

Skills

The required skills enable the Powder Painter to properly prepare surfaces and operate coating equipment to ensure consistent, high-quality finishes. Manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude are essential for handling tools and making adjustments during coating and curing processes.

Attention to detail supports identification of imperfections and ensures product quality standards are met. Preferred knowledge of powder types and curing methods improves troubleshooting and process optimization. Strong communication and teamwork skills help maintain coordination across production and quality teams.
