Job Summary Under direct supervision of a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), the Vascular Student Extern assists in performing non‑invasive vascular diagnostic procedures including carotid duplex, venous reflux, and arterial studies while developing clinical competency. Responsibilities Assist in performing a variety of vascular ultrasound procedures. Assist with producing clear and undistorted images as indicated per established protocols. Identify and visualize all necessary anatomy, measurements, and correctly label structures. Recognize normal and abnormal vascular anatomy and physiology and report critical values and abnormal findings per established policy and procedures. Utilize 2‑Dimensional, M‑Mode, color flow, and Doppler imaging techniques when indicated. Assure correct patient information on requests, reports, and PACS. Perform related duties as required. Qualifications Required: Education: Enrolled in an accredited program for Vascular Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program with a vascular concentration. Certifications/Registrations/Licenses: American Heart Association BLS CPR certification required. Must be obtained within 7 days of hire. Preferred Experience: 0 - 2 years of experience.
