Licensed Mental Health Counselor or Licensed Master Social Worker

Role Description This is a contract, hybrid role for a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) based in Cornwall, NY, with the option to complete some work from home. The clinician will provide individual, couple, and/or family psychotherapy, including intake assessments, diagnosis within scope of practice, and ongoing counseling sessions. This role REQUIRES EXPERIENCE and desire to treat a population made up mostly of children from ages 8 and older. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and updating treatment plans, maintaining timely and accurate clinical documentation, and coordinating care with other providers as appropriate. The role involves using evidence-based interventions to address mental health concerns, support client goals, and monitor progress. The clinician will also participate in regular communication with the practice regarding scheduling, billing documentation, and adherence to ethical and regulatory standards. Qualifications Strong clinical skills in Mental Health and Psychology, with the ability to assess, diagnose (within license scope), and treat a range of emotional and behavioral conditions. Experience in Treatment Planning, including collaboratively setting goals, selecting interventions, and adjusting plans based on client response and progress. Competence in treating children and families. Knowledge of Case Management principles, including coordinating resources, referrals, and community supports to enhance client outcomes. Active LMHC or LMSW license in New York State, in good standing. Comfort working in a hybrid model, with the ability to provide both in-person services in Cornwall, NY and telehealth sessions from a confidential remote workspace. Strong written and electronic documentation skills, including timely progress notes and treatment records in an EHR or similar system. Demonstrated commitment to ethical practice, cultural humility, and trauma-informed care. Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related mental health field from an accredited institution. Experience working with diverse populations and varied clinical presentations; familiarity with evidence-based modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, solution-focused approaches) is a plus.
