Machining Operations SpecialistContract to hire, 6a-6p M-F, some weekends, lots of overtime.Job Summary:Assist with maintaining tools, equipment, and components by means of machining operations. Ensure compliance with all Job-Related Requirements including Machining Objectives, as well as Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) and Quality Management System (QMS) requirements. Demonstrate professionalism in all aspects, reflecting the highest standards and promoting "Lead by Example". Professional communication and conduct are required to establish and maintain professional working relationships with customers, suppliers, subordinates, peers, and superiors.Essential Duties/Responsibilities:Complete incoming inspection tasks and keep records accordinglyBased on priority, repair / machine components with reference to drawings and specificationsKeep records of component conditions prior and after repair / machining operationComplete final inspection as advised by machine shop manager.Segregate and mark product, components and parts based on customer and internal requirements.Required to operate a forklift, overhead and jib crane in a safe manner to help with day-to-day operations.Take measurements and mark material for cutting or machining.Load and unload inspection racks and trucks.Show knowledge of API, mud motor and shop componentsMaintain machines, equipment, tooling, and shop supplies as needed.Review samples or instructions to understand specifications of output.Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job.Select appropriate tool to complete a job.Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements.Maintain a safe and organized work areaAbility to make sound machining decisions in cases when immediate supervisor is unavailableNotify management of any issues related to the machines and equipmentPerform other duties as assigned by managementExtensive hours of standingManual effort and performance of repetitive tasksMaintain an on-call status.Education/Experience Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent is requiredPrevious industry related experience considered an assetMechanical or Technical experience requiredSkills/Qualifications:Must have a valid driver's license and able to pass drug screeningsMust be authorized to work in the United States with no restrictionsAbility to read and comprehend manufacturing blueprintsAbility to lift and carry 50 lbs. more than once a dayAbility to pass Vision Test on Jaeger Eye Chart (No. 1 or 2 without or with glasses / contact lenses)Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment, while paying close attention to detailsWilling to work overtime when requiredComputer proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
