Job Summary and Qualifications

Safely transports patients to and from various units in the hospital as directed, using patient transport equipment and safe patient management tools/materials including, but not limited to, wheelchairs, stretchers, slide boards, etc. Demonstrates proper body mechanics. Positively reflects concern and consideration when interacting with patients, medical staff, physicians, and other hospital personnel supporting the Mission, Vision, and Values of Rose Medical Center. Is able to provide care to assigned patients and assures a safe patient care environment. Maintains technical skills, competencies, complies with the Staff Expectations, and is responsible for the use of equipment to minimize hazards and maximize patient safety. Performs any additional duties assigned by the Transport Supervisor. Adheres to the Rose Medical Center iCARE Standards at all times.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: 1 year of transport experience preferred.

Must be capable of applying knowledge, skills, and abilities to all age patients.
