DoD SkillBridge Internship: Project Engineer

Job Summary This opportunity is exclusive to U.S. military members currently serving on active duty and eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge Program. This is not a civilian or student internship. Project Engineer The Project Engineer supports the Project Manager with the administration of project cost and scheduling systems and supports estimating functions for changes and addenda. This role manages document control and shop drawing systems and helps ensure the smooth flow of information between the design team, consultants, and subcontractors. This role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced project environment. Qualifications Demonstrate interest in construction management or the construction industry Have served at least 180 days on active duty Be eligible to participate during the final six months of military service prior to separation or retirement Be expected to receive an honorable discharge Have completed the Transition Assistance Program (TAP/TGPS) Have attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months Received unit commander written authorization and approval to participate in the DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of the internship Computer Systems Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Microsoft Project and Procore (preferred but not required) Compensation & Benefits This is an unpaid internship through the Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge Program. The selected intern will not receive compensation or benefits from JRM Construction Management and will not be an employee, agent or contractor of JRM Construction Management but will remain an employee of the DoD and will receive compensation and benefits through the DoD. SkillBridge graduates hired into a Project Engineer role in New York City can expect a salary range of $65,000 to $90,000.
