We're looking for a Construction Inspector to perform roadway inspections, asphalt density testing, and materials testing to ensure projects meet NCDOT quality and safety standards. This is a hands-on field role offering the opportunity to work on impactful transportation projects while advancing your career in construction inspection and materials testing.

Responsibilities:

• Perform roadway inspections and quality assurance testing on transportation projects.
• Conduct asphalt density testing and inspect asphalt and concrete materials.
• Document test results, inspection findings, and project records accurately.
• Communicate with contractors, project teams, and agency representatives.
• Maintain testing equipment and ensure proper calibration.
• Promote safety and quality on active construction sites.
• Travel to project locations throughout North Carolina as needed.

Requirements:

• Current NCDOT QMS Roadway Technician Certification OR NCDOT QMS Density Gauge Technician Certification.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Experience with roadway inspection, materials testing, or construction quality management.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Knowledge of NCDOT standards and testing procedures.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Preferred:

• Possession of both NCDOT Roadway and Density Gauge certifications.
• NCDOT Conventional Density Technician Certification.
• Concrete inspection experience.
• Civil or transportation construction experience.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract position based out of Raleigh, NC.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
