PATIENT TRANSPORTER (FULL TIME)

Position We are hiring immediately for full‑time PATIENT TRANSPORTER positions at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital, 353 Fairmont Boulevard, Rapid City, SD 57701. Online applications only. Schedule Full‑time schedule: 7:00 am–3:30 pm or 1:30 pm–10:00 pm. Days may vary. Further details upon interview. Qualifications No experience necessary. Willing to train. Pay range: $16.00–$16.50 per hour. Job Summary Responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment, and patient‑related items to their destinations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Properly and safely transports patients, secures IVs, drainage tubes, and other items. Uses wheelchairs and other approved rolling stock to carry out duties. Demonstrates competency in transporting all specific age groups. Ensures safe, timely, and accurate transport using proper equipment. Communicates effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians, or reception and dispatch. Provides comfort to patients, offers blankets, checks modesty, and engages in appropriate conversation; never transports patients in severe pain. Alerts nursing staff immediately to signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction. Maintains equipment and reports needing repairs. Complies with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO. Adheres to facility confidentiality and patient rights policies as outlined in HIPAA procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.
