Job Title

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for meeting the psychosocial needs of individuals, groups, and families through counseling and treating mental health disorders and other conditions. Ensures effective utilization of clinical mental health and human development principles, methods, diagnostic procedures, treatment plans, and other psychotherapeutic techniques. Defines goals and action plans reflecting the client’s interests, abilities aptitude, and mental health needs as related to the client’s personal-social-emotional concerns, educational programs, occupation and career. Works independently and responsibly within scope of care. Participates in community education and public relations activities. Thorough knowledge of governmental regulation in regard to reimbursement. Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree in a relevant human services field such as Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited school of graduate education required.

Experience: Two (2) years clinical experience in psychiatric settings required.

License/Registration: Full licensure in the state of N.C. required. Maintain CPI certified. Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.

Other: Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to age-specific issues and data reflective of the patient’s status. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the adult population.

Typical Physical Demands: Requires range of motion within functional limits, manual/finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Functional vision and hearing. Frequent standing, sitting, and walking. Occasional bending/stretching. Occasionally carry 15 pounds.
