Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse – West Virginia

Start Date: August 24, 2026

Schedule: 3x12 night shifts (weekdays and weekends), 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio based on acuity

Highlights:

• Specialized 10-bed Cardiovascular ICU focused on cardiothoracic surgery patients including CABG, valve replacements, thoracotomies, and carotid endarterectomies
• Direct admission of fresh open-heart patients from OR with comprehensive pressure monitoring and advanced cardiac device management
• Critical skills required: ACT (Activated Clotting Time) experience, Swan-Ganz management, Impella monitoring, and CRRT
• 13-week contract with possibility of extension; blocked schedules available
• Cerner EMR system with full interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
• Comprehensive patient population including STEMIs, cardiogenic shock patients, complicated cardiac cath lab patients, and post-code admissions

Requirements:

• Active RN License (West Virginia or Compact state license accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with direct open-heart admissions from OR
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale
• Essential experience: cardiac surgery skills, Swan-Ganz management, Impella monitoring, CRRT, arterial line management, continuous IV sedation, and ventilator management
• ACT (Activated Clotting Time) experience required
• Permanent address must be 100+ miles from facility
• Minimum of 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years
