Intervention Specialist - Hayward Middle School Job Details Job ID: 5806160 Application Deadline: Jul 07, 2026 11:59 PM (UTC) Posted: Jun 29, 2026 1:05 PM (UTC) Position Type: Full-time About the Role The Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, is seeking an Intervention Specialist for Hayward Middle School grades 7-8 for the 2026-2027 school year. The district serves approximately 7,500 students and values diversity. This role focuses on social and emotional learning growth for students and includes a 1:1 initiative and a digital learning lab with 3‑D printing, graphic design, and videography. Responsibilities Participate in the ETR process, completing required evaluations, assessments, data from progress monitoring, and observations. Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with a team of professionals in accordance with Federal, State, and Local requirements. Participate in collaborative lesson planning in inclusive settings with all team members. Plan and implement appropriate interventions, accommodations, and modifications in both self‑contained and inclusive settings. Provide specially designed instruction and support general education teachers. Align lesson plans to the Ohio Extended Learning Standards for students with Low Incidence Disabilities. Provide progress reports to parents reflecting student progress toward IEP goals at least as frequently as required. Prepare interim progress reports and quarterly grades based on assignments in self‑contained classes. Help students with disabilities identify strengths and weaknesses, develop independence and self‑advocacy skills. Collaborate with parents to explain student disability, goals, and services. Stay current on developments in the field by reading journals, attending professional meetings, and discussing problems with peers. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Valid Ohio teaching certificate or license in Special Education issued by the Ohio Department of Education. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited in teacher education. Experience working with students with disabilities and diverse learning needs. Ability to design, adapt, modify, and implement instruction to meet individual student needs. Ability to arrange and coordinate schedules for planning and instructional purposes. Benefits As a contracted employee, the role includes 183 days per year and 7.25 hours per day. Salary is in accordance with the negotiated agreement, with increases based on experience and education. Contracted employees receive competitive benefits, and all employees receive professional development. During the 2025‑26 school year, pay and benefits are as per the current agreement.
