Medical Surgical With Telemetry (MS Tele) RN / Charge Nurse Farmington, New Mexico

The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) / Charge Nurse for a Surgical Inpatient Unit. The role supports post-operative patient care, including ortho/neurosurgical and abdominal procedures, while providing comprehensive nursing oversight for a diverse adult inpatient population. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: Days, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week; weekend hours required at least 3 shifts per 4-week schedule.
• Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse; Basic Life Support (BLS); skills/exposure in post-operative patient care for ortho/neurosurgical/abdominal surgeries, NG tubes, chest tubes, foley catheter (including turps), respiratory issues, diabetic patient care, sepsis, alcohol withdrawal, rib fractures, altered mental status, and pain management.
• Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated strong customer service and patient experience skills.
• Responsibilities: Provide post-operative nursing care for surgical inpatient patients, including monitoring and management related to the units common clinical needs (e.g., respiratory status, diabetic patient care, altered mental status, pain management). Support patient care across a mixed medical/surgical inpatient caseload as assigned, including required handling of devices and related treatments (e.g., NG tubes, chest tubes, and urinary catheters).
• Additional Information: The unit includes sister units that may require floating to Medical / Nephrology / Inpatient Rehab as needed, and may float to Cardiology for lower acuity patients and/or to Pediatrics for adult patients only.
