JOB DESCRIPTION: Pharmacy Clerk LOCATION: Retail Pharmacy REPORTS: Pharmacist(s) and Pharmacy Technician(s) COMPANY: NW Staffing LLC || dba Express Rx Summary The PHARMACY CLERK performs many of the administrative duties of the retail pharmacy, such as answering phones, accepting prescriptions, filing records and receiving payment from customers. The Pharmacy Clerk will be the cashier much of the time, so will need good customer service skills and feel comfortable completing sales. Must be able to receive direction from pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Since paperwork and records are an important part of the pharmacy business, the pharmacy clerk will need to be organized and detail oriented. Pharmacy Clerk’s must be able to work well in a fast-paced environment and have strong customer service skills. Key Responsibilities Sterilize surfaces and equipment and prepare the pharmacy for opening and/or closing. Greet customers, answer calls, and field patient questions with a positive attitude. Collect payment and insurance information. Close and count down registers, and deposit money at the end of day. Keep front end shelves organized and clean, along with the rest of the pharmacy. Make regular OTC inventory checks and order merchandise. Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks in a timely manner. Move, lift, carry and place merchandise and supplies weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. Frequent repetitive motion with hand(s) and arm(s), such as grasping, gripping and turning. Stand and/or walk frequently throughout work shift. Visually locate merchandise and other objects, as well as verify information, often in small print. NOTE: Pharmacy Clerk is prohibited from: 1) Performing the final check of a prescription; and, 2) Performing any type of counseling with patients. Experience or Requirements High School diploma, GED, or equivalent Proven communication and customer service skills Strong math skills required Outstanding organizational skills Reliable with a keen eye for detail #J-18808-Ljbffr
