Job Summary

The Client is seeking an experienced ER Registered Nurse to join its fast-paced Emergency Department. This role requires strong clinical judgment, solid trauma and medical emergency skills, and the ability to thrive in high-acuity environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for ER nurses looking for strong pay and consistent night shifts in the South Chicago area.

Unit Information

• Emergency Department: 24 Beds
• Patient Population: Neonates to Geriatrics
• Acuity: Moderate to High

Patient Types

• Sepsis, DKA, COVID
• STEMI, Stroke
• Mental Health & Behavioral Health
• Respiratory Distress (SOB)
• Chest Pain / Cardiac
• Neurological (AMS)
• Minor Trauma / MVAs

Travelers will not be assigned to Triage.

Schedule & Requirements

• Shift: 12-Hour Nights (7 PM Start)
• Weekend Rotation: Every Other Weekend
• Possible Rare Back-to-Back Weekends
• No Call
• No Block Scheduling
• Flexible Scheduling Required

Holiday Expectations

Summer: Work 2 of 3

• Memorial Day
• Labor Day
• July 4th

Winter: Work 1 from Each Group

• Thanksgiving Day OR Day After
• Christmas Eve OR Christmas Day
• New Year's Eve OR New Year's Day

Staffing Ratios

• RN Ratio: 1:5 (5th patient low acuity during surge)
• Tech Ratio: 1:10–12

Minimum Requirements

• Active RN License
• Minimum 2+ Years ER Experience
• Travel Experience Preferred
• First-Time Travelers Accepted (With 2+ Years ED Experience)
• BLS & ACLS (Required)
• PALS (Preferred)

Required Skills

• Cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Strong IV skills
• EKG interpretation
• ED medication administration
• Drip management
• Emergency assessment
• EPIC experience (Preferred)
