Senior Product Engineer

Position Summary The Senior Product Engineer assists with engineering, fabrication, and operations of gas turbines and gas turbine packages. Primarily works with gas turbine auxiliary systems, packages, and related services, aiding in job execution by performing the following duties. Essential Functions Serves as a key stakeholder in the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems for power generation packages (e.g., gas turbine, reciprocating, etc.) and auxiliary subsystems, including lubrication, hydraulic, starting, fuel, air intake/exhaust, structural, and acoustic enclosure. Serves as the Engineering liaison for new build manufacturing of mobile power generation packages driven by gas turbines, reciprocating engines, and battery systems. Provides technical leadership, mentorship, and development of Mechanical Engineers. Assists other departments with commissioning newly manufactured packages, ensuring the mechanical systems operate as per the functional specification. Develops process specifications that formalize standardized tasks to strengthen quality control practices. Creates component specifications to assist the requisition of parts for new build manufacturing. Serves as Engineering liaison for procurement and supply chain for new and existing product lines. Establishes documentation that outlines operational criteria for Factory Acceptance Testing. Drives design review of mechanical system developments to ensure designs meet industry standards and legislation. Assists other departments with the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mobile power generation packages, battery storage packages, and their respective auxiliary systems. Performs redline/markup drawing reviews for mechanical and structural that feed the documentation control process and becomes the approval authority for final drawing release. Leads the development of new products and the advancement of existing products. Manages the development of mechanical system operation and maintenance manuals. Evaluates new product/service offerings from suppliers to build technical proposals. Provides onsite and remote troubleshooting support on deployed assets. Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution. 10–20 years of gas turbine or power generation equipment experience. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Specific knowledge of GE/Siemens/Solar gas turbines and Caterpillar/MTU reciprocating engines and related auxiliary systems. Experience with GE/Siemens/Solar gas turbines and Caterpillar/MTU reciprocating engines strongly preferred. Professional Qualifications Successfully passes pre‑employment background check. Possesses a valid U.S. driver’s license. In‑person, predictable attendance. Skills & Abilities Ability to work within a team concept to successfully complete assigned tasks. Excellent communication and time‑management skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.). Ability to take instruction well and interact with other employees in a positive manner within assigned work groups. Physical Requirements / Work Environment The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work hours may include early morning, late evenings, and weekends depending on business necessity.
