Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level III trauma center in Farmington, NM, requiring 2 years of ED experience and night shift availability.

Details

• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week travel contract
• Emergency Department in a 198-bed Level III trauma center serving the Four Corners region (NM, AZ, CO, UT)
• 48 ED beds with flex space; patient ratios of 4:1 in the main ED and 6:1 in Fast Track
• Patient population includes ESRD, cirrhosis, COPD, psychiatric, and substance abuse disorders
• Common diagnoses and treatments include ESRD, substance abuse disorders, psychological disorders, COPD, CHF, abdominal pain, chest pain, trauma, stroke, STEMI, and sepsis
• Minimum of two weekends per schedule required
• No call requirements
• No float requirements
• Equipment includes Zoll Defibrillator, Level One Blood Transfuser, QinFlow Blood Warmer, Hospira Plum360, Freestyle and iStat POC, and Ultrasound Guided IV
• EMR: Cerner

Requirements

• Active NM or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (all must be from AHA)
• ADN or higher nursing degree required
• Experience with trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and moderate sedation required
• US Social Security Number required for consideration
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Facility is a Level III trauma center; due to its regional location, trauma cases ranging from Level I through III are flown in
• Team nursing and Pod System model in use; a social worker and unit educator are assigned to the department
• Facility is located in Farmington, NM, in the San Juan River Valley — approximately 1 hour from Durango, CO and 3 hours from Albuquerque, NM
• Area features three rivers, four golf courses, five lakes, six National Parks, and recreational opportunities including hiking, kayaking, and off-roading
