The Clinical Supervisor provides leadership, clinical oversight, and support to counseling staff while ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed care for individuals receiving substance use disorder treatment. The ideal candidate is a strong clinician and team leader who is passionate about recovery-oriented care and staff development.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical supervision and guidance to counselors and clinical staff
- Ensure delivery of quality clinical services in compliance with Massachusetts Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) regulations and program standards
- Review assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge documentation for quality and compliance
- Facilitate individual and group supervision sessions
- Support staff with crisis intervention, case consultation, and treatment planning
- Assist with staff training, onboarding, and professional development
- Collaborate with nursing, recovery coaches, case managers, and leadership team members
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and utilization review processes
- Monitor program outcomes and support continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and recovery-focused treatment environment
- Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or related field required
- Independent clinical licensure preferred:
- LICSW
- LMHC
- or equivalent
- Experience working in substance use disorder treatment strongly preferred
- Supervisory or leadership experience required
- Knowledge of BSAS regulations and documentation standards
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Experience with trauma-informed care and co-occurring disorders preferred
