Medical Oncologist - Outpatient-Focused Role Location: Northern California with coordination support from Santa Rosa, CA Compensation: competitive hourly compensation Employment Type: Full-time, Monday-Thursday onsite schedule 9-hour clinic days, Friday remote admin time (~4 hours) Start Date: ASAP Weeks needed: 08/31/2026 09/07/2026 09/28/2026 10/05/2026 10/26/2026 11/09/2026 11/16/2026 12/07/2026 12/28/2026 * current locum in rotation has fallen ill and will likely not be returning, leaving an urgent backfill need in their schedule to continue serving an underserved community * Relocation or Transition Support: Locum-to-perm transition strongly preferred Position Overview: We’re excited to share an opportunity for a board-certified/eligible Medical Oncologist to join a growing, collaborative, and patient-centered oncology team in Northern California. This is a predominantly outpatient-focused position in a beautiful lakeside community, with support from an established regional oncology network. You’ll play a key role in providing direct patient care, coordinating specialty referrals, participating in care planning, and shaping oncology service delivery in a community setting. Position Highlights: Outpatient general oncology (no infusion, chemotherapy, or biologics onsite initially) Chemotherapy services planned to launch in the near future Access to infusion/chemo services in the affiliated Santa Rosa clinic Flexible Nurse Practitioners to support the unit Patient panel: 1,500-2,000 with varied acuity Embedded within a broader oncology service line in collaboration with regional specialists Strong infrastructure for administrative and virtual support Minimal inpatient responsibilities, if any After-hours call handled by family medicine colleagues Close coordination and virtual consult support from regional oncology colleagues Must be comfortable working independently in a solo-provider outpatient setting Travel, lodging and malpractice provided (as locums) Ideal Candidate Profile: MD or DO with Board Certification/Eligibility in Oncology Valid California medical license or ability to obtain one Prior solo practice, rural medicine, or leadership experience preferred Confident, self-starter with interest in building or leading services Comfortable practicing independently while collaborating across sites Licensure & Certification Requirements (Must Have or Be Willing to Obtain Upon Hire): MD or DO (California) DEA & Controlled Substance Registration BLS, ACLS, NRP Board Certified or Eligible in Oncology Benefits & Employment Details (for permanent candidates): Full suite of health and wellness benefits Exempt, salaried role with bonus potential Supportive administrative and clinical infrastructure Opportunity to make a lasting impact on cancer care in an underserved area #J-18808-Ljbffr
